How Our AI Works
Last updated: March 25, 2026
Our approach
IELTS Tutor uses AI to make practice feedback faster, more structured, and easier to act on. The goal is not to pretend an automated tool is an official examiner. The goal is to show you where your performance appears strong, where it appears weak, and what to improve next.
We design the product around criterion-based feedback, transparent score guidance, and clear next actions so you can use practice sessions to study more effectively.
What the AI does well
- Scores writing and speaking practice against IELTS-style criteria so you can see where marks are likely being won or lost.
- Highlights recurring language issues such as task response gaps, weak paragraph control, pronunciation clarity, and vocabulary repetition.
- Turns mistakes into next-step practice suggestions so you know what to train next instead of guessing.
What the AI does not replace
- It does not issue official IELTS scores, certifications, or admissions advice.
- It cannot guarantee that an examiner would award the same band estimate in every case.
- It should not be treated as a substitute for official IELTS policies, registration guidance, or immigration/legal advice.
How we try to keep feedback trustworthy
- We structure feedback around transparent IELTS criteria rather than vague “good job” summaries.
- We label score outputs as guidance and encourage users to compare results with official band descriptors and real examiner expectations.
- We review product education and help content through the IELTS Tutor Editorial Team before publishing it as site guidance.
What users should verify independently
- Official IELTS registration steps, fees, dates, and test-center policies.
- Any immigration, university, or professional-registration requirements tied to target band scores.
- Any high-stakes decision that depends on an official score report rather than practice feedback.
Independent from IELTS
IELTS Tutor is an independent preparation platform. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the British Council, IDP: IELTS Australia, or Cambridge Assessment English.
